Jennifer's Way = Yay!

Love love love what this lovely lady is doing to raise awareness for Celiac Disease. Thank you for lending your voice and raising the bar Ms. Esposito. And THANK YOU for clearly expressing that Celiac Disease DOES NOT mean one has a "gluten allergy." So much confusion out there about this autoimmune disorder. Girl is settin' the record straight!

Can't wait to visit the bakery. Gluten. Free. Cupcakes. 'Nuff said. Looks yum!

Delighting in the Lord's keeping power

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

Forgetting the past

...and looking forward to what lies ahead. (Philippians 3:13)

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow...

Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His Name will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end.
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Faith + Perseverance = Goodness & Glory

James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Romans 8:18
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Colossians 3:1-4
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

The Smurfs Have Arrived at Macy's...Yippee!

Is it wrong how delighted I was to encounter the below tower of Smurfs at Macy's this past weekend? Not only have the lovable blue superstars of the 1980s been named the official Holiday Ambassador for the retail giant, but they will also be making an appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It's definitely going to be a "Blue Christmas" on 34th St. this year, ha.

All I can say is, "If loving The Smurfs is wrong, I don't want to be right." (That totally goes for cupcakes, too).

God Never Wastes a Hurt

Hebrews 12:1-13

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:

"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. "Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed."
